So the mad last minute rush has begun for X-mas.  I’m pretty much done with gifts but the thing that sucks is being in a 45 minute line at the grocery store when you just need a two liter bottle of soda.  Screaming children, cranky parents, stressed customers and a dash of blizzard and you get – voila! A big fat headache and the sudden urge to commit violence.

On a festive note, one of my teachers in high school liked to tell this story every year – (more or less)

“When I was a kid, maybe ten or twelve, we’d all go to my grandpa’s farm for Christmas.  It was all the kids, the whole extended family cousins and all and we’d have a Christmas Eve party then we’d all fall asleep and wait for Santa.  One year, we heard a tremendous clatter on the roof of the barn.  All the kids scrambled around in excitement.  Then we all heard three gun shots.  Kids started crying and Grandpa stormed in from the snow with a shotgun and yelled, “Santa’s dead.  So go back to bed.””

Merry Christmas everyone – I sincerely hope you all have plenty of joy and lots of dysfunctional holiday memories to keep you warm through the holidays.
