Okay, I can let you in on what’s been going on now.

A couple of weeks ago I applied to be part of a reality show about Storm Chasing.  I have to tell you all, I was so ridiculously stoked about this.  I even drove around town, mostly on 84 pretending I was chasing tornados.  One night I even slept in my Wizard of OZ “ruby slippers”.

Not that I ever need an excuse to wear my favorite pair of shoes, but I was indulging in my fantasy about chasing tornados.  It would only have been for a couple of months and since my apartment is still in storage it seemed like there wouldn’t be a better time to go have an adventure then come get settled back in a groove.

Alas, I made the top ten finalists – but not the top three.  I found out today so I can go ahead and sign a lease.  It was cool of them to let me know so I wouldn’t be putting my life on hold for any reason.

I gotta say, though, I’m pretty bummed.  How often does one get a chance to do something so wild?  I realize though, maybe I’m just reluctant to let go of the freedom and sense of adventure I had on the road this last year.  So there you have it.  The primary reason I haven’t committed to any jobs in the last couple of weeks – I was really holding out for this gig.

I guess it’s back to the real world now.  Bummer. It seems like I’m having a lot of “near misses” with things I want to do or try.  Perhaps I need to refocus my approach to adventures I want to pursue, I keep having “close but not quite” with the gigs I get the most excited about. I wonder what I should do differently.

Anyway, there it is.  Back to the drawing board.  Of course – maybe I didn’t get the scrapbooking gig or the tornado gig, because something far better and MORE adventurous is right around the corner with my name one it. Cross you fingers and I’ll click my ruby heels together!

It would have been a blast, that’s for sure. But you’re right, maybe next year!!
Till then, I’ll click my heels and call it good.

Hope all is well with you!
