Four days without caffeine.  The withdrawals are pretty much done.  I find myself completely losing my train of thought lately, walking into a room and forgetting why I’m there, starting a sentence and losing my idea halfway through.

The synapses are simply not on the ball when I’m decaffeinating.  Nelli, I’m sure, would recommend the t-shirt: I can’t brain, I have the dumb.

Sadly, this means I won’t likely be doing any good writing for the next week.  But I fully expect that when this little experiment is over, and I have an Americano – the writing will go on all night, follow by a cigarette.

Hey Erisan, I suspect that you are right. I’m curious to see how I re-metabolize the coffee.

I can sympathize, I’m finding that coffee is being one of the largest expenses of my trip, i can stock up at a grocery store and be happy as a bunny eating lettuce and carrots, but not being around a grand availability of good coffee? driving me batty… I thought that there would be comparable amounts of well made, lovingly prepared, expertly crafted cups of java derivatives in any largish city with a population over 20K, but i’m finding i was wrong… very wrong. Most the coffee here is brown, burnt, shit in a cup. I’ve had maybe, two good cups of coffee since i left pdx.
You’re in the lions den m’dear, if you can resist being seduced by the bean there, you have uncanny strength.

Bunny! So happy to see you one the interweb! Welcome to the BlissQuest.
How’s your trip going? I just saw the pic of you in the shoes in Amsterdam.

I’m soooooo sorry that you are not within range of delicious coffee. That makes me so sad for you – going from working in a rocking coffee joint with oodles of goodness to – none.
I’m sorry.
As to the Lion’s den I haven’t been by Chance of Rain for 6 days… I’m afraid if I smell a shot pulled by Nick – all my ninja resolve will crumble and I will feast. So, I’m staying home mostly and avoiding good places. 8 more days…

Hope Europe has other things to offer that make up for your lack of java :)

Nelli, if you hadn’t given me the t-shirt idea and if I hadn’t seen it on your site – I wouldn’t have anything to tell people to explain my occasional “condition” but as soon as I say it- everyone goes, “ahhhh” as though I just gave them the answer to some fabulous mystery.
Thanks, girly :)
