I just finished the Master Cleanse.  It started on the 1st which is why I’ve been caving so much and although I cheated for the first five days as I went through withdrawals, On the sixth day I stuck to it with single minded conviction and went 6 more days without food, drinking only the juice recipe and the evening tea.

I have to be honest. While I didn’t do it fully for the complete ten days, the 6 that I did do, left me feeling great. A new kind of clarity.

When my Dr. first mentioned that she thought the Master Cleanse could help me it was well over a year ago and when she told me it was a ten day fast – I started laughing at her and said, “That’s just not gonna happen.”

When I started house-sitting in a bright airy and solitary space, I decided perhaps I’d do it just to tell her that it didn’t work and then she’d stop nagging me about it.

After the initial five days of decreased caloric intake, caffeine withdrawals and my period, I reached a point of comfort and then when I went fully into the next six days – I had new energy, I felt vibrant and at the same time – VERY vulnerable to other people’s energy.  I found myself easily frustrated by people not managing their issues well, and I also found it difficult to concentrate.  I got winded easily and as my body detoxed I went through boughts of shaking and sweating. Not pretty.

All in all I count it a success.  I’ve never done anything like it and now that I’m off and moving back to food again, I’m working extra hard to avoid Gluten and Dairy.

Though I can’t seem to get enough proteins. If you’re curious about the benefits of the Master Cleanse I recommend doing a little research.

For me, I think it helped me get rid of some toxins, water weight and allergies related to the Dairy and Gluten.  Anyway, I was just letting y’all know why I’ve been avoiding public places with food, friends, and heat. All is well now and I feel great – I’ll likely start doing this once or twice a year from now on.
