I’ve managed to catch a cold again. I suspect though, that with each re-occurrence a pattern is emerging that seems to indicate – I am not taking good enough care of my boundaries. In fact, the more I disregard my needs in favor of keeping up with other people, the faster and more frequently I seems to get sick. I don’t know what this is about, but at the very least I need to think about it, because this “catching everything that goes around” is not working for me and it needs to change. If it’s merely mismanagement of my energy – that needs attention.

i carry around wipes and germX. I know it sounds OCD-ish but, germs suck. I was in the store the other day ( i germX the cart handle before touching) and i was walking back at the back of the store, near the meat counter, and one of the meat workers turned to the aisle, like 5 feet in front of me and coughed, without covering her MOUTH!! i quickly detoured and held my breath til i was at the other side of the store. I dont like being sick, i dont like germs. Cooties are ok in certain, rare instances. i like to keep at least a 5 foot sphere of space around me at all times. Mary says i am slightly “Monkish” after the TV show. Not as bad as him, only slightly.
Noticable symptoms are a signal from your body saying HELLO I am out of balance and doing everything I can to get back to homeostasis where I am most happy. Am I getting excersize, am I getting enough rest (not just sleep), am I eating the right balance of protein, fruits and veggies, getting enough vitamins, sitting in the sunshine enough, giving your mind and body a break! All of the worldly forces we submerge ourselves in daily, overhelm the body, weakening our immune system ( an already spectacular defense system), and so we get sick.
Detox, and restart.
End lecture
Lara,
That was a great lecture.
Thank you.
I will take into account and re-evaluate and try to build a better plan.
