If words be weapons, let me not wound.
If they be light, let me guide.
If words contain knowledge, let me enlighten.
If they are compassion, let me love.
If words are the way, let me show it with grace.
If they are music, let me bring song.
If they are medicine, let me heal.
Grant me the words to do the most good, or the strength to be silent.
Please grant me the wisdom to speak truth, the fortitude to remain true to my words, the language to protect those in need, the power to use words for honor and the courage to speak honestly, even what may condemn me.
Universe, I am your vessel – pour through me so that I may write.
