Having Admiral Fubar home is awesome. I think it’s fair to say, he weathered Iraq well.

As one would expect, after being stressed out and on guard and taking or giving orders for a year, Admiral Fubar is suddenly full of energy, practically bouncing off walls and running in circles. It’s a little overwhelming since I’ve been alone for the last year and the house has been eerily quiet. He’s like a rubber ball of chaos pinging off virtually everything without direction.

Then I realized the other day, as I we were sitting in the living room talking, that I have pretty much isolated myself from the world for the last year. I enjoyed the respite for sure. But Now that Fubar is home – I know I need to get back out and rejoin the action.

There have been things going on behind the scenes that I haven’t had the strength or energy to blog about for the last several months. I think this has also contributed to my desire to avoid human contact and interaction.

This is no longer going to be an option. With Admiral Fubar home, there is a force of motion, a sheer volume of energy that is rippling the still waters of my solitude – and it is alternately welcome and not as my senses struggle against the suddenness of the changes. Like stepping into noonday sun after a movie, squinting, shielding my eyes and wondering, “what day is it?”.

I’m excited to have him back. Excited to have the shift in timing. Excited to have my buddy home so we can plot adventures and cause mischief. I’m excited to finally have my headspace interrupted so I can wake up and join the living again.

It’s been a long year that paradoxically went by very quickly.
I for one am glad it’s time to get moving again.

Yeah, Erisian, you are lame, but so is everyone else it seems. Jordy is the only person from my camp who actually showed. the other four peoples were from his search and rescue/work/unit.
